październik 2007: Jan Sebastian Bach żył wprawdzie w okresie, gdy lutnia była jeszcze bardzo popularna, a jeden z największych lutnistów wszechczasów, Silvius Leopold Weiss, był jego rówieśnikiem, to jednak sam napisał niewiele utworów lutniowych. Nawet znajomość z wieloma lutnistami, w tym ze wspomnianym już Weissem, nie zainspirowała go, by tworzyć na ten instrument. Trzeba jeszcze wspomnieć, że utwory lutniowe Bacha są transkrypcjami jego wcześniejszych utworów. Obcowanie z muzyką Bacha jest jednak wielkim przeżyciem, być może, więc dlatego jeden z największych lutnistów naszych czasów postanowił rozszerzyć bachowski repertuar lutniowy i dokonał transkrypcji na ten instrument jego sonat i partit na skrzypce solo, jak i jego suit na wiolonczelę solo.
