Thanks to the collaboration with Felice Romani the opera features a highlyrefined comic vein which allows a detailed study of the psychological side ofthe characters as well as a painstaking care of the musical writing. Following the example of his beloved Mozart, Rossini is looking for aconnectin point between comic and serious genre.
