The Makoto Terashita's Piano Trio performs five jazz standards and one original composition on this great Audiophile Recording! the top recorded number is the famous "Have You Met Miss Jones?" by Ricard Rodgers. The standard "Don't Blame Me" is from the famous performance of Art Tatum and Ben Webster. This ballad is a favorite of jazz musicians like Barry Harris, Bud Powell, McCoy Tyner, to name a few. The rest of the album is a nice balance of selections including: "Trinkle Tinkle," the composition by Thelonious Monk, whom Terashita holds in high esteem, the title tune, "Ihatov", which means "utopia" or "Ideal place" in Esperanto, a Ray Brown blues featuring bass player Koji Yamashita in "A Very Hip Rock'n Roll Music", and Benny Golson's number "Stable Mates". All analog mastered by Mitsugu Kobayashi (Renowned for his Three Blind Mice label work!) at the mastering center of Victor Company in Japan. Live to 2-Track all analog recording & mastering pressed on high quality 180 gram audiophile vinyl at RTI.
