A self-taught vocalist Rene Marie has been compared to Ella Fitzgerald Sarah Vaughan and Nancy Wilson - quite stunning considering her musical path. Marie started singing professionally at 15 with the Randolph Brothers an R&B band in Roanoke Virginia her hometown. At 18 she married a musician in the band and set aside her career to become a wife and mother to her two sons.
