"Although the tracks on this CD have been particularly well transcribed from 78 rpm records and the packaging states the sources; the title and CD cover for this compilation is misleading. The CD cover is a virtual replica of the artwork that was used for Perry's RCA Victor album "A Sentimental Date With Perry", which began life as a Musical Smart Set collection of 78 rpm records in 1947/1948. However, only 2 recordings from the original album are included on this compilation. The song selection is very interesting, nevertheless and includes some recordings making a rarer CD appearance. All the songs were recorded between 1945 and 1950. The CD also includes record catalogue numbers as a point of interest and liner notes (which have errors and misconceptions). In general, this is a good effort and represents a very good example of re-mastering using 78 rpm records as the source. However, the cover artwork and title are definitely misleading as to the actual contents of this compilation. "
