Reviewer: Aaron Cagle (Cincinnati Ohio) If you've never heard of Mordechai Gebirtig, this CD is perhaps the best introduction. The beauty and horror to which Gebirtig sang gave voice to his people, my people, who perished in the Holocaust. This is a powerful CD. It contains all of the anger and pain and sorrow which can only be heard beneath the music. But the beauty of Gebirtig is that he had hope. Hope that a day would come when the Jewish people would walk free of persecution and anti-semitism. And it is this hope which defines Gebirtig as a prophet among men. It is this hope which I listen to today. It is this hope which may yet rid the world of all persecution, sorrow, and despair.
