The Miles Davis Quintet and its classic line-up of Davis (trumpet), John Coltrane (tenor sax), Red Garland (piano), Paul Chambers (bass) and Philly Joe Jones (drums) was as influential and acclaimed as any of the jazz legend's many incarnations and their 1961 Bob Weinstock-produced release Steamin' is yet another triumphant set. Highlights from the 6-song collection of standards include fiery takes on "Salt Peanuts" and "Well, You Needn't" among others.
Cut from the original analogue mono masters by renowned mastering engineer Kevin Gray. 200-gram mono vinyl plated by Gary Salstrom and pressed at Quality Record Pressings with flat edge profile and deep groove label, true to the original LP. Housed in a deluxe high-gloss tip-on album jacket.
