Recorded on Various Organs A NOTE FROM THE PRODUCERS This recording has been more than three years in the making. At the beginning of Dorian Recording's association with Jean Guillou, we decided that it was incumbent upon us to document one of the most remarkable facets of his singular art: his acheivements as one of the outstanding contemporary practitioners of the art of improvisation. Beginning in 1987, and continuing through 1990, at recording sessions in France, Switzerland and the United States. It has been our privilege to capture Jean Guillou in the fury and fantasy of spontaneous creation. Of the many improvisations recorded in this period, Mr. Guillou has selected a diverse and representative program for inclusion in this release. We hope that you will share the sense of excitement that we experienced at the recording sessions while hearing Jean Guillou simultaneously create and perform these remarkable pieces. - Brian Levine
