She was born in the countryside of Sao Paulo state, "discovered" at a jazz festival in Finland, acclaimed in Japan and recorded in New York City. Perhaps it seems ironic that this retrospective of Ana Caram's music is titled Postcards from Rio. Yet her five albums on Chesky are all imbued with the atmosphere of this captivating city, whose music transforms everyone it touches. These fourteen musical postcards were created with love and recorded with a freshness and clarity impossible to capture in multi-track recording. Ana Caram - Vocals, guitar Cliff Korman - Piano, synthesizer David Finck - Bass Duduka da Fonseca - Drums, percussion Steve Sacks - Flute, alto flute, tenor & soprano saxophone Al Hunt - Flute, alto flute, clarinet, oboe, English horn David Sacks - Trombone Erik Friedlander - Cello Raul Jaurena - Bandoneon Romero Lubambo - Guitar George Young - Saxophone Portinho - Drums Leandro Braga - Piano Ted Lo - Synthesizers Cyro Baptista, Jamey Haddad - Percussion Matthew Dine - Oboe Sergio Assad - Guitar, 12 String Guitar Produced by David Chesky and Steve Sacks Recorded by Bob Katz Recorded using the 128X oversampling A to D Mark III converter with ultra analog modules and vacuum tube equipment built by George Kaye. Reviews "Caram sings with the clarity of a fine diamond and the simplicity of a performer confident in her style and interpretation to carry the message without the clutter of overstyling." - The Portland Skanner Ana Caram - w naszej ofercie
