Alice’s musical career started as a secondary-school pupil in Challans, where she became a member of her very first jazz band, the Tocadiscos quintet. Together, they won the 1998 “Music’Ados” Festival local event organised by the “Jeunesses Musicales de France” (J.M.F), which gave the band an opportunity to appear on the stage of the “Manège” Hall in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée). This was Alice’s first ever real live performance. The band won again the following year and was thus given a chance to represent the Pays de la Loire Region in June 2000 on the prestigious “Cirque d'Hiver” stage in Paris. Over those years, Alice gave performances in several places around the region and participated in the “Festival des Lycées” in Saint-Nazaire. In 1999, she entered the jazz workshop at the music school of Challans. In 2001, Alice decided to go and stay for a year in New York where she discovered Broadway musicals (Cabaret, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Lion King, The Miserables, etc.) as well as the Harlem Gospel voices. During her stay in the United States, Alice also frequented the Blue Note jazz club where she listened to the music of Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, Dizzy Gillespie’s band among other brilliant artists. There she met and became friendly with Enrico Granafei, a guitarist, harmonicist and singer who also happened to be the Artistic Director of the Trumpets, the most famous jazz club of New Jersey. Alice was then given an opportunity to join in numerous jam sessions... Alice holds a graduate diploma in Public Law and International Business English/German (Bachelor’s degree 3), as well as in Sociology (optional subject: Cultural Professions and Institutions Expertise) (Master’s degree).
