While I love Sonny Rollins, this is not his strongest effort. It does contain a beautiful version of 'Round Midnight, and an inventive, piano-less trio version of Four. However, the other songs are less inspired and I Remember Clifford and Afternoon In Paris barely get started -- each are about two-and-a-half minutes long. The Rollins tone and creativity are there when Rollins calls them up, but if you're familiar with his stronger material, you'll return to those more often than this one. Three stars is a stingy rating, but relative to other Rollins albums, this is all I can give it.
