Felicie Huni-Mihacsek was born in Hungary and studied at the Vienna Music Academy. In 1919 she made a guest appearance at the Vienna State Opera. She officially joined the ensemble in September of that same year. On October 10 of that year she created the role of the Falcon in Richard Strauss's Die Frau Ohne Schatten. She also sang Elsa in "Lohengrin" and Donna Elvira in"Don Giovanni" both under the baton of Richard Strauss. During her career in Vienna, which embraced a half century, the singer was held in the highest esteem by Richard Strauss and Franz Schalk. At a memorial concert for Gustav Mahler she was entrusted with the soprano solo in his Fourth Symphony. She also sang in the Mozart "Requiem" on the occasion of the death of Giacomo Puccini.
