This recording took place almost on the spur of the moment with trumpeter Hugh Schick, bassist Yasushi Yoneki and drummer Takumi Iino. Besides the group's hard driving renditions of Monk tunes and their sensitive rendition of "Prelude to a Kiss, of special note are Marty's arrangements of three Native American Papago songs.
