The Master Tape
The suburb of Wiesbaden, capital of Hessen, Germany, is with flourishing woods and pleasant weather. Enveloped in a shroud of mists, trees and lianas are mysteriously beautiful. In the deep woods, there had been an old castle. In fact it was a professional recording studio with about 150 years of history. The Steinway piano in the hall had witnessed many great moments when pianists played beautiful tunes at the splendidly decorated hall, with soft and romantic lighting. Staying in the hall in quietness, you may still hear melodies whispering the good old days. It used to be a place of idyllic beauty and a fountain of inspiration. With the pianists’ skillful performance, the 88 black keys and white keys produced wonderful sounds as if they had come to life. Graceful music lingered around the castle like a thin mist. In Chinese mythology, Nu-Kua, a goddess, patched the sky with colorful rocks. This castle was just like a colorful rock which was made into a place for the music fairies. Many great pianists were attracted here by its reputation as a very professional recording studio. Promising pianists became masters; however the castle had gone for good. Pianists came here one after another playing for the last time when they came to know the sad news that the castle was to be bombed out. This album is the last one recorded in the castle. The legend had gone for good.
