One of the best albums ever! Christina Gustafsson has been singing professionally for many years. She has had her own jazz quintet which included Karl-Martin Almqvist and Mattias Landaeus; and she has performed with many of Sweden's leading jazz musicians such as Bernt Rosengren, Ronnie Gardiner, Mattias Algotsson, Magnus Lindgren and many others. Moments Free is Christina Gustafsson's debut album and is being released on the Prophone label. All the music on this disc – except for "Daydream" – was written by Christina. She is backed on the record by some of Sweden's most talented and successful musicians and they perform Christina's music with flexibility and freedom and a natural feeling for jazz. The band consists of Max Schultz and Erik Söderlind on guitar, Martin Höper on bass and Calle Rasmusson on drums. Pianist Daniel Karlsson also appears in four of the songs. Magnus Lindgren – who plays saxophone and flute and is also a noted arranger – has collaborated with Christina in producing the disc and he also plays on some of the titles. Together they form a band with a sound that is perfectly attuned to Christina's highly personal and engaging voice. The result is a stunning new vocal jazz disc that will surely establish Christina Gustafsson as one of Sweden's leading jazz singers.
