Skye possesses a great voice, an instrument with great range and has been singing professionally in Singapore for several years. This album is her first new project in several years and was recorded direct to 2-track DSD by the well-known audiophile engineer, Todd Garfinkle of m.a Recordings, using his superb and highly customised B&K microphones. The album was recorded over two days in a small private studio and the music programme includes covers of ten very well known Mandarin pop tunes that have been arranged by well known composer/arranger Iskandar Ismail. Our concept was to have these songs performed in an acoustic or unplugged setting that would enhance its audiophile virtues and give the tunes a very pure and simple feeling and appeal. Think Eva Cassidy in Mandarin with true audiophile quality!!! Otherwise, I don’t have much else to say except that the title will give you some clues about what to expect - many sad songs that are “Blue.....” and feelings that will run “Deep.....”.
