This CD brings together a series of rare live recordings which Bruno Walter made with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra between 1942 and 1950. The value of these rarely-heard recordings is heightened by the superb quality of the readinghere we find Walter far more intense and diabolical than in the albeit superb studio recordings of the final years of his career. A CD that no admirer of the great German conductor can afford to miss.
