Born in Florence in 1895, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco was one of the most prolific Italian composers of his generation. After fleeing to the USA in 1939 to escape Nazi persecution, he was commissioned by MGM Studios to write many film scores. Today he is best remembered for his enormous contribution to the classical guitar repertoire. He wrote over 100 works for the instrument. This release, devoted to some of his fine repertoire for solo guitar is an invaluable addition to the classical guitarist’s library.
