Advantage demonstrates once again just how great the Swedes are at making pop music -- the album's tracks have as much in common with the sugary pop of the Field Mice ("Heaven's Just a Kiss Away") or the effete, baroque sound of Blueboy ("This and That") as they do with the strummy, sing-song indie of Sportsguitar. As with records like Blueboy's Unisex, Advantage is so unassumingly sweet that it's hard to feel irritated, or suspect that the sound is an affected pose. It's even tempting to make Cardigans references, not so much in terms of sound, but in terms of the consistently amazing pop songwriting (on par with Life). It's quite simply a brilliant pop record.
