Stesichoros Chamber Orchestra is well-established group specialising since its foundation in 20th century repertoire. Here they present three works by Giorgio Federico Ghedini, a great protagonist of the European music created between 1920 and 1975, considered, with Luigi Dallapiccola and Goffredo Petrassi, the qualitative peak of Italian music of the period. The Guardian4th November 2010 a quietly eloquent musical voice, one that is fundamentally neoclassical and gently nostalgic...These performances, with the Parrino brothers, flautist Stefano and violinist Francesco as soloists, capture that lightness and economy of scale perfectly. An unexpected treat.
